Dr. Cynthia R. Griffin
Dr. Cynthia R. Griffin is the wife of Pastor Mark L. Griffin and the First Lady of Wayman Ministries. She has a calling and passion for Christian women. This devotion led her to organize the first Annual Women’s Conference at Wayman Chapel AME Church in 1999. Following the initial conference, the Spirit of the Lord led her to organize the Women of Wayman Women’s Ministry. Through this ministry, women are empowered to live abundant lives, to grow in grace, and to win others for Christ. This outreach ministry was subsequently renamed the Women of Virtue, to allow women who are not members of the church to be able to participate, recognizing that many churches do not have organized women’s ministries. The mission of the Women of Virtue is to provide activities for Christian Women that promote spiritual growth, fellowship, accountability, training, evangelism, sisterhood and service. The activities of this ministry include the Annual Women’s Conference, monthly seminars, spiritual retreats, one-to-one fellowship, and so much more.
Dr. Griffin is also President of the Minister’s Spouses Alliance of the 11th District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. In this role, she provides leadership to approximately 500 spouses of active pastors throughout the State of Florida and the Bahamas. She travels the state and the Bahamas, providing mentorship and other support to the spouses. Under her leadership, statewide meetings and annual retreats are held to undergird the spouses, whose support is vital to the success of the pastors and the churches they lead.
In addition to playing an active role with her husband in ministry, Dr. Griffin is a respected leader in the healthcare industry. She is the Director of Pharmacy Government Programs for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. She currently serves on the Florida Board of Pharmacy, and previously served on the Florida Medicaid Prescribing Practice Panel. She has been licensed to practice pharmacy since 1983. She holds a Doctorate of Pharmacy and a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Florida A & M University. Dr. Griffin has been in pharmacy management for almost 30 years. During this time she has attained numerous awards and recognitions.
Dr. Griffin is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is the mother of two daughters, Whitney and Crystal, and has one grandson, Marcus.
